Arts for Social Change   Johannesburg, 2006-09-22 09:10:00 - 2006-10-01 09:10:00

Arts for Social Change will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa, bringing together young artists and changemakers from around the world, interested in artistic and creative processes as tools to address various social issues. The learning journey hosted in February 2005 received wonderful reviews and we would like to carry the excitement further, exploring how the Arts has and is affecting change in South Africa as well as the rest of the world.

Theatre of the Oppressed: Johannesburg

On the 18th and 19th November, Geo Britto from Theatre of the Oppressed in Rio de Janeiro, hosted a workshop for a group of 15 participants on CTO methodology in Johannesburg. His visit has inspired a group of individuals to meet on a regular basis to explore these techniques further, and there is a possibility of more workshops in both Johannesburg and Cape Town for 2006.
