Since my return from this year’s learning Journey, I have something so strong in me that tells me: "Kokou, you ought to initiate something and share your culture with others." What can I bring to this world? How do I let people from other areas become aware of 'my world’s' happiness, sorrows, fears, needs? I then took the initiative to perform an action relying on what I have learnt. This is a means to gather pioneers in West Africa, to discuss and share this kind of world, this kind of West African life with. I believe that it will be of great experience to the participants to see how ways of living differ from one place to another.

The protection of the environment through the dialogue of cultures

Mission Des Jeunes (MDJ) is a non governmental association established in 1999. It applies to large publics, to organizations engaged in the protection of the environment, promotion of art in general and in the struggle against illiteracy as well as to public institutions. MDJ favors cultural exchanges through international workshops (blend of volunteers from all over the world gathered in a specific location to work and to exchange ideas and cultures. Last but not least MDJ also intervenes in the programs concerning health and the struggle against STD’s.

Our Objectives are:

• Promotion of arts in general
• The protection of the fauna and flora
• Aid for development in disadvantaged areas
• The struggle against illiteracy and aid for education
• Struggle against aids and STD’s (Sexually Transmitted Diseases)
• Aid to orphans and the needy
• Sensitization of the population about sanitary matters
• The emancipation of women and their support
• The exchange of ideas and the establishment of new initiatives
• The dialogue between cultures
• Brotherhood and intentional cooperation between young people all aver the world

We have been working in this domain since 1999 and throughout the years we’ve collaborated with RAI (a Spanish association), A Pas de Loup (APL , a French association for the protection of the environment) and our branch in France (MDJ France); by organizing environmental, educational and cultural workcamps. Mission Des Jeunes wishes to extend its possibilities in order to give a better aid to a population that needs it more and more.
