Waterlution
Waterlution engages individuals, organizations and communities in exploring issues facing our local and global water supply with the goal of developing solutions that respect our water and ecosystem for many generations to come. Waterlution’s purpose is to inspire pattern-making and pattern-breaking change towards a healthy and sustainable relationship with water
We design and host experiential and innovative learning programs to explore our relationship with water in its various capacities. We work with industry, non-governmental and community organisations, youth groups, local government and other water stakeholders. Waterlution's approach can complement - and deepen - your organisation's environmental efforts, current educational programs and social responsibility initiatives. Water learning programs range from a 2-hour dialogue to a week long immersion program.
The programs offered by Waterlution aim to visualize a new type of space. Where water is abundant, and taken for granted by its consumers, how can understanding water instigate a sustainable approach to water usage levels? Where water is scarce, what actions can be taken to ensure that everyone is getting their equal share?
The intent of our programs is to actively engage people of all ages in innovative learning processes that assist in shaping future water behaviour. Waterlution believes that everyone has a role to play in understanding the physical, cultural, social, historical, environmental and spiritual elements that contribute to our relationship with water. As people around the world expand their knowledge of water, we can be better prepared to make long-term and holistic decisions about water management and usage.
The development of an experiential water learning program was conceived in 2002 with the international learning community, Pioneers of Change, following attendance and participation in the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg, South Africa
The co-founders of Waterlution, Karen Kun and Tatiana Glad, came together with a shared value system and a deep routed belief that local communities around the world can re-establish their connection with water as a fundamental step in building sustainable communities. Karen Kun and Tatiana Glad bring 20 years of combined experience in community development, environmental management, corporate social responsibility, workshop facilitation and program design and delivery.
